Because almost everyone needs to do this in some point.
I'll update this whenever there comes more.. =)

:iconhenu-chan: Henu-Chan's  frequently asked questions;

:bulletorange: Your username? Avatar?
Yeah.. it's a just a old nickname of mine ^^; since my name is Henna, friends used to/and some still call me Henu. I don't know why I chose that for my username. And Chan is of course a Japanese diminutive suffix.
My avatar is edited by me from the original Hello Kitty picture.

:bulletorange: How long you've been drawing?
I've been practicing drawing all my life. :icontdrawplz:
08-09 I mostly drew fast scribbles in few hours, nothing more serious, but my passion for it started to grow rapidly. And then, I started to take the drawing more seriously in year 2010, and practice my skills for real.. My mom had a huge impact on that.

:bulletorange: Your pencils brand? Paper size?
Pretty much all my pencils are Derwents www.pencils.co.uk/. It's a weird coincidence, since I don't really consider myself as brand loyal person. It just happened! XD
I always use A4 paper, but if I do use A3 paper, I will mention it on the artist comment section.

:bulletorange: I'm a new artist, can you give me any advices?
Practice, practice, practice.. =)
Draw lots of stuff, and don't ever think that some idea is too stupid to draw. Just make it fabulous then!! *gay finger snap*
Don't be afraid to challenge yourself! Challenging is the key. If you fail.. so what? Chin up, and try again. Failing is big and necessary part of learning process... d'oh I sound like a teacher. BUT it's really true!!

:bulletorange: How do you shade?
Depends on context... for example, the skin with harder H-pencils, and then I softly blend it. Don't ever blend graphites with your finger! Use something else like a tissue or Q-tip..

:bulletorange: How do you do the hair?
I'm not so sure myself D: It's a long & slow process that I once developed, and never bothered to come up with an easier method because this one works for me. It's all about layers, and REALLY taking your time with drawing. Rush it -> you ruin it

:bulletorange:  How did you learn to draw?
I'm 100% self-taught artist.. I just practiced a lot by drawing scribbles almost daily, and trying out different methods until I found my own style. Whenever I looked at photographs, I tried to study about how the shadows and lighting work.
Geez, what an art-geek I am.. But I'm serious! I was very fascinated by that kind of research. Yeah.. I'm officially either weird or art-geek.. or both :icondealwithitplz:

:bulletorange: What art courses have you taken?
None. Except the regular art classes you must take in school, but they never taught me any portrait drawing. More like, how to use different tools, art history, and about proposition etc...

:bulletorange: Do you have any idol artists here?
On dA? TOO MANY to list!! D8 I love ALL my friends here, and I think that each one of them have very unique style which is why I find them all very interesting and inspirational to +watch.<3

:bulletorange: How do you make your coffee paintings?
It's like painting with watercolors. I start with just coffee and carefully 'go darker' by adding watercolor in, keeping in mind how dark I wanna go with it! So that I wouldn't overdo it. I use regular watercolor paper and a thin brush. NOTE that coffee is not good for your tools so don't use the bestest brush you have. I find it best to paint with coffee by doing it on layers and letting it dry between sessions.

:bulletorange: Would you make a tutorial?
maybe, tell me what you want it on about..?

:bulletorange: Requests? Commissions? Art-trades?
R; No I don't do those usually. I might take sometimes small sketch requests, and when I do, I will announce it on my journal..
C; So far I've only been doing those for relatives/friends/people from Finland.. If I someday learn to use Paypal I might start to take commissions from other people too XD but so far I'm fine with this system..
AT; Friends yes, whenever I don't have any commissions or something else going on.. ask me.

:bulletorange: How do you keep yourself motivated?
That is a very good question. I don't know if you can tell but I'm actually a very impatient person.  I have a huge passion for art so that's one reason how I'm able to keep myself motivated. I just wanna do my best and I always hope that it would show on my works.
However, the best way to keep myself motivated is to take many breaks from drawing portrait, for example, I may have many different works in progress at once. At this moment I have about 5, I think. In that way, I can switch between them cuz I get bored so easily and it keeps me interested. :XD:
Don't take pressures of making art, you got to have fun with it .. if you lose that, it's much more harder to have the "drive" for wanting to make an art and improve yourself.
Music is also an excellent motivator, it's like that you gotta remember to reward yourself, in order to keep yourself going.

If you have more questions, please feel free to leave them on this journal! =)
